RV Rental Near Jamaica Beach RV Resort in Galveston, TX

RV rental Galveston Texas

Every spring I get the same call from someone who booked a site at Jamaica Beach RV Resort months ago, then realized they don’t actually own an RV — and have no interest in towing one down FM 3005 in Galveston Island traffic. That’s exactly the gap I fill. I’m the local Fireside RV Rental owner here on the island, and a Jamaica Beach RV Resort RV rental from me means I tow the rig down, back it into your reserved site, level it, hook up water, power and sewer, and hand you the keys. You show up with groceries and beach chairs. That’s it.

Why I Like Delivering to Jamaica Beach RV Resort

Jamaica Beach sits on the West End of the island, a good 12 to 15 miles past the Seawall down FM 3005, so it’s calmer and breezier than the busy stretch near Pleasure Pier. The resort itself has full-hookup sites, paved pads and the kind of wide, looping interior roads I appreciate when I’m backing a 30-foot travel trailer in by myself. I’d rather deliver here than to a lot of tighter island parks because I’m not fighting a cramped angle or a soft shoulder. The Gulf is a short walk or golf-cart ride away, and that West End wind keeps the afternoons bearable even in July when the rest of the island is baking.

One thing I always tell first-timers: book your resort site before you book the RV. The resort fills up fast for holiday weekends and the summer stretch, and I can’t deliver to a site you don’t have. Once you’ve got the confirmation, call me with the dates and the site number and I’ll handle the rest.

How Delivery and Setup Actually Works

Here’s how a typical Jamaica Beach drop goes for me. I confirm your arrival date and your assigned site, then I tow the unit down ahead of your check-in time. Because the resort roads are generous, I can usually get the trailer positioned, leveled, chocked and connected in well under an hour. I’ll walk you through the basics when you arrive — how the AC and water heater work, how the slide goes out, what to do at the dump station if your site isn’t a full pull-through. When your trip ends, I come back and haul it out. No dump station, no tow vehicle, no breaking anything down in the heat.

If you’re flying in, Scholes International right here in Galveston (GLS) is closest, though most folks land at Hobby (HOU) up I-45 and drive the rest of the way down. Either way, the RV is already waiting and set up when you get to Jamaica Beach.

What to Do Around Jamaica Beach While You’re Here

The West End location is the whole point — you’re close to the quiet beach access points but still within an easy island drive of everything Galveston is known for. Here’s what I steer my renters toward:

  • Galveston Island State Park — just a few minutes back up FM 3005 toward town, with bay-side and beach-side trails, birding and paddling. Great for a low-key morning before the heat sets in.
  • The Galveston Seawall & Pleasure Pier — about a 20–25 minute drive east into town for the rides, the views and the long boardwalk stretch.
  • Moody Gardens & Schlitterbahn — both family standbys on the island, perfect for a hot afternoon when you want to be indoors or in the water.
  • The Strand Historic District — downtown shops, restaurants and the old buildings, a good evening when you want off the beach.
  • Bolivar Ferry & Bolivar Flats — take the free ferry across for the shorebird sanctuary and quieter peninsula beaches; the ferry line gets long on summer weekends, so go early.
  • Brazos Bend State Park — a longer haul inland off SH 6, but worth it if you want alligators, big oaks and the observatory.

When to Come and What the Weather’s Like

My honest take after years on this island: spring and fall are the sweet spots. March through May you get warm days, manageable humidity and lighter crowds. June through August is full beach season — gorgeous, but hot and sticky, with the heat index climbing well into the afternoon. That’s when I’m glad I’m delivering rigs with working AC instead of asking people to set up in it. Late summer into early fall is also peak hurricane-season window on the Gulf Coast, so keep an eye on the forecast and stay flexible with your dates. Fall, once it cools, is my personal favorite — fewer people, the water’s still warm, and the West End empties out.

Whatever month you pick, book early for any holiday weekend. Memorial Day, the Fourth and Labor Day all sell out the resort and tie up the better rigs in my fleet weeks ahead.

Picking the Right RV for the Site

Because Jamaica Beach has roomy sites, I can comfortably put a larger family trailer or a bunkhouse here without worrying about the fit. If it’s just a couple, I’ll usually suggest something smaller and easier to live in. Tell me how many people, how many beds you need and whether you want a pull-through-friendly setup, and I’ll match it. Exact features and what’s included vary by unit and by what I have available, so call or email me and I’ll tell you straight what fits your site and your group. You can always reach me directly at 281-301-5591 or [email protected].
